A three-year-old child fell into a borewell in Medak district of Telangana on Wednesday night. After several hours of rescue operations, his body was recovered on Thursday morning.
The massive rescue operation launched by local authorities in the Podchanpalli area of Medak district failed to bring any results as authorities could only recover the motionless body of Sai Vardhan this morning.
The child fell into the newly dug open borewell in Medak that was around 120-feet-deep. Rescuers supplied oxygen into the borewell and earth excavation machines were also pressed into service to dig around it.
A team of NDRF personnel was also pressed into action who continued with the rescue operation overnight.
As the news of the boy slipping into a borewell came on Wednesday evening, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan expressed concern and spoke to the Tamil Nadu Health Minister.
The Tamil Nadu Minister offered all support required as a similar incident took place in Trichy some time back and the boy was recovered from the borewell.
