Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy suggested progressive and pragmatic outlook towards the future of the state and the country, post May 17 when the lockdown 3.0 ends.

Rather than calling for a blanket extension of the lockdown, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy pitched for awareness among people regarding coronavirus. He also suggested that the stigma associated with Covid-19 be addressed and eliminated.

Jagan Reddy, in the video conference with PM Modi, had stressed on the fact that the stigma should die an instant death if we are to get back to any state of normalcy.

”Jagan Mohan Reddy also advocated stringent SOPs at workplaces and other areas where people are expected to gather post the lockdown. He suggested that people be encouraged to report in case they develop any symptoms which would help in the containment of the virus,” a close source confirmed.

Contrary to Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, Andhra Pradesh CM has stressed on the free moment of the working class and resumption of the transportation service as, he stressed, it will help the economy to get back to where it was.

‘He emphasised on the need for the Central government to support the MSMEs during these trying times,” CMO officials said.

According to top sources closed to the Andhra Pradesh CM, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Monday called Jagan Reddy post the video conferencing and appreciated him for raising the issue of stigma surrounding Covid-19.
