If a news report by Bloomberg is to be believed then Apple is set to begin online sales of its devices in India soon. According to Bloomberg, the online operations of Apple could commence around the festive season, set to begin next month. Apple hasn’t officially commented on the speculation so there’s no concrete date on when Indians will officially be able to get their hands on Apple products through the Apple online store. Still, when the online sales operations of Apple does commence, here’s what it could mean for Indian buyers:


Apple products may get cheaper but not by a huge margin
With the government having relaxed rules of sourcing 30% of components locally, Apple’s online sales could mean cheaper products. Don’t expect a drastic fall in prices but some reduction could very well be on cards

Currently, Apple sells through distribution partners and the likes of Amazon and Flipkart. Its own store means special back-to-school deals and other offers could reach Indian customers as well

Another benefit of an online store is getting hands on refurbished models of iPhones — a market that Apple could tap in as the demand could be high for them due to high prices of new products.
