Ayushmann Khurrana’s hit film Article 15, which released in 2019, received positive feedback from critics and audience alike. As reported earlier, the film’s remake rights have been secured by producer Boney Kapoor. The Tamil remake of Article 15 will go on floors soon.

A source spoke to the IndiaToday.in and confirmed the inclusion of Udhayanidhi Stalin and Arunraja Kamaraj. They added, “Boney Kapoor was in talks with Udhayanidhi Stalin for the Tamil remake. The duo zeroed in on director Arunraja Kamaraj to helm the remake. The pre-production work will begin soon.”

It is said that an official announcement regarding the Tamil version of Article 15 will be made after the lockdown is lifted. Meanwhile, Arunraja will work on adapting Article 15’s script to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience.

Article 15 follows the story of a sincere police officer who fights against casteism and discrimination in rural India. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film also stars Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra and Isha Talwar in prominent roles.

Arunraja Kamaraj made his directorial debut with Sivakarthikeyan and Aishwarya Rajesh’s Kanaa, the first Indian film to focus on women’s cricket. The Tamil remake of Article 15 will be his second directorial venture.

Producer Boney Kapoor is busy with the production of his upcoming film, Valimai. Directed by H Vinoth, the film stars Ajith and Huma Qureshi. Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi Stalin, who was last seen in Mysskin’s Psycho, has a couple of projects in the pipeline.
