Two people died and three others were injured as Cyclone Nisarga wreaked havoc in rural parts of Pune in Maharashtra after making landfall in coastal Raigad district around 1pm. Earlier in the evening, state minister Balasaheb Thorat had said that threat posed by the cyclonic storm to Mumbai has lessened, but the next few hours will be crucial. Thorat said authorities in Nashik and Ahmednagar are on alert considering the trajectory of the cyclone as per the India Meteorological Department. Stay with TOI for all updates.
