NEW DELHI: India reports 9,851 new Covid-19 cases & 273 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases in the country now stands at 2,26,770 including 1,10,960 active cases. As many as 1,09,462 people have been cured/discharged/migrated. National Covid-19 death toll stands at 6348 deaths.

MUMBAI
- Mumbai witnessed vehicular movement at Vikrholi Highway and at Wadala. Heavy vehicular movement was reported at King Circle, Kalanagar flyover on WEH and Babasaheb Ambedkar Road at Byculla. Meanwhile, as today is odd day, shops opened in Thane market.
- Woman in Thane performed Vad Savitri rituals.
- From next week, 38 Air India repatriation flights will fly stranded Indians to Mumbai from cities in the Middle East, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, US, UK, among other countries, by June 30, said an official from the chief minister’s office (CMO) on Thursday. Apart from these, charter flights have been arranged to bring back stranded Indians to Mumbai.
- Maharashtra government may now cap Covid test cost at Rs 2,300.

DELHI
- Around 20 staff members of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have tested positive for Covid-19. All of them are asymptomatic and are doing well, said DMRC officials.
- Delhi high court on Thursday asked the AAP government to upload on its official website and publicise that despite sealing of the capital’s borders, people with medical emergencies can come to Delhi hospitals after availing an e-pass.
- With Covid-19 cases spiralling in Delhi, it is becoming difficult to secure a bed at a hospital within a reasonable time. The death of a 60-year-old man, Lakhjeet Singh, after he failed to get a bed in any hospital has brought out this stark reality. His daughter, Amarpreet, went on Twitter to break the news, saying, ‘The govt failed us.’
- As senior citizens are more vulnerable to the infection by the novel coronavirus, Delhi government has asked the divisional commissioner to prepare a database of all residents of the capital aged above 60 years.
- Delhi University will not be conducting examinations for over 3 lakh first and second-year undergraduate and over 12,000 first-year postgraduate students.
- After Maharashtra, Delhi has maximum active cases of Covid-19. While Maharashtra has 39,935 active cases, the corresponding figure for Delhi is 14,456. It is much higher than the number of active cases in Tamil Nadu (12,135) and Gujarat (4,779), two other states that are most affected by the Covid-19 crisis.

BENGALURU
- Lakkundi now gripped by panic after resident dies of Covid-19.
- Mysuru reported another Covid-19 positive case on Thursday. This is the second time in two days that a pregnant woman has tested positive. Now the tally in the district has increased to 99.
- Private hospitals in Karnataka have offered to treat asymptomatic Covid-19 patients from below poverty line (BPL) families for Rs 5,200 per day under the Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka (AB-ArK) health insurance scheme.
- The price quoted by Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) is nearly one-third of the indicative pricing issued by Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI) for treatment in private hospitals. The average daily cost of treatment, estimated by AHPI, is Rs 15,000 as basic ward fee for a patient with no symptoms, or mild to moderate symptoms.
- The average daily cost of treatment increases to Rs 7,000 per day if the patient requires oxygen support, Rs 8,500 in ICU and Rs 10,000 if ventilator is required.

LUCKNOW
- In contrast to the anticipated surge in UP’s covid tally after the arrival of migrants, data shows that an average of 2.9 of the symptomatic suspects in the migrants category have tested positive in UP.
- During the 68-day lockdown period between March 25 and May 31, noise levels in the state capital dipped by 20-30% in various localities at night, compared to the same period last year, often veering below permissible limits set by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
- To help people tide over lockdown, the government had released two months’ pension in advance amounting to Rs 871.48 crore, depositing it directly into their accounts.
- Days after the real estate sector said that it could provide jobs to 1 lakh workers in the sector, readymade garment exporters have requested the government for 2 lakh workers, citing the shortage of labour as the prime reason for the inability of manufacturing and export units to start work.

CHENNAI
- The buses heading from Papanasam, Tenkasi and Tuticorin to Tirunelveli are overcrowded in the morning and return trips in the evening even though the social distancing norms to prevent Covid-19 requires that only 60% seats should be occupied and nobody should be standing in the buses.
- SC seeks Centre’s response on PIL for capping cost of treatment of Covid-19 patients in private hospitals
- With the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) making arrangements to resume operations from Monday, the Coimbatore corporation has decided to shift the temporary markets that were functioning at bus stands.
- As cases surge, TN has brought Covid-19 care under the CM’s health insurance scheme — which covers 1.57 crore families — to help patients get treated at private hospitals. Hitherto, TN patients were offered free treatment at government hospitals.
