Delhi police on Sunday arrested a woman bootlegger and seized 24 cartons containing 1,210 quarters of illicit liquor from her possession.

On Sunday morning, Delhi Police received information about the woman bootlegger at South West Delhi’s Rewla Khanpur area. Subsequently, a Delhi Police team apprehended the woman outside her house and recovered 24 cartons containing 1,210 quarters of illicit liquor from her.

The arrested woman revealed that she bought this illicit liquor from Haryana to sell it to in her area. The woman said that she did so to make ends meet as she has been jobless due to the lockdown. On further investigation, she was found to be previously involved in an Excise Act case.

A case against the woman has been filed under relevant sections of the Excise Act and IPC.
