Kapil Dev, Murali Kartik to be up against each other in golf fund-raiser on July 11


Kapil Dev will be teaming up with Gaganjeet Bhullar and the two will be challenging Shubhankar Sharma and former Kartik Murali at the Delhi Golf Club course here on July 11, reported The Hindu.

Former India skipper Kapil Dev will be taking part in an exhibition golf match in New Delhi where he will be up against former left-arm spinner Murali Karthik.

Kapil Dev will be teaming up with Gaganjeet Bhullar and the two will be challenging Shubhankar Sharma and former Kartik Murali at the Delhi Golf Club course here on July 11, reported The Hindu.

Gaganjeet Bhullar is a winner of one European title and nine more on the Asian Tour and Shubhankar Sharma is a two-time winner on the European Tour, whereas both Kapil Dev and Murali Kartik are regulars at Pro-Am events.

The 18-hole Covid Relief Exhibition Golf Match, which could be the first golf event post the Covid-19 lockdown, is held to raise funds to fight the pandemic and help the ones hit hard in this time.

India is gradually opening the economy after a lockdown that lasted for over 2 months, however, no tournaments will be held in the country as of now.

Moreover, India’s coronavirus caseload has gone past Spain to become the fifth-largest in the world.

India’s tally of coronavirus cases stand near 2,46,549 as of Sunday morning, while more than 6,800 deaths have been reported in the country due to the deadly virus.
