NEW DELHI: A day after Pakistan unilaterally approached the Islamabad high court for appointment of a lawyer for Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, the Centre accused Pakistan of blocking all avenues for an “effective remedy” for India in the case, reports Sachin Parashar.
While India did hire a Pakistani lawyer to go for a review “as a last resort” on July 18, it still couldn’t file a petition in the absence of any power of attorney and because of Pakistan’s refusal to share supporting case papers. The government said Pakistan’s moves again exposed the “farcical nature” of its approach to Jadhav.
