Tripura on Monday recorded its highest single-day spike in the novel coronavirus cases after 102 tested positive for the virus. All those who have tested positive have a travel history, said state Chief Ministry Biplab Kumar Deb.
According to the state health department, the total number of positive coronavirus cases in Tripura stands at 423, out of which 173 have been discharged and 247 are still under treatment.
Three coronavirus patients have migrated from the state.
Over 150 BSF personnel and their family members had also tested positive for the deadly virus in the state earlier.
Biplab Kumar Deb said, “As the numbers are rising, I urge everyone to stay extra cautious and follow the government instructions. During my visit today, I inspected two quarantine facilities at Silacherra RD Block. I had interactions with doctors and other healthcare staffs. I also encouraged them to further strengthen the fight against Covid-19.”
With the rising number of cases, the government has increased its number of beds for infected patients.
On April 25, Biplab Kumar Deb had declared Tripura coronavirus-free but the state witnessed as sharp surge in cases after April 2.
