Comfort, space, and luxury are what all these C-segment sedans offer, however, there is little for a driving enthusiast. That said, Hyundai and Skoda have reinvented ways to cater to that needs.

The facelifted Hyundai Verna Turbo sports 1.0 Kappa Turbo GDi Petrol, which produces 120 PS at 6,000rpm and a torque of 172 Nm at 1,500-4,000rpm. Hyundai Verna engine is linked with a 7-speed DCT. The claimed efficiency of this variant of Verna is 19.2 kmpl.
Rapid is available only in 1.0 TSI engine. The 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine produces 110 PS at 5,000-5,200rpm and a torque of 175Nm at 1,750-4,000rpm. Skoda Rapid is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission option. New Rapid has a mileage of 18.97 kmpl. In fact, Skoda India has confirmed an automatic transmission is arriving very soon.

Hyundai Verna is priced Rs 9.3 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards while 2020 Skoda Rapid is way affordable at Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for 1.0 TSI Rider.

Hyundai Verna Turbo costs Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-specced Monte Carlo variant of Rapid which is the apple to apple comparison of Verna Turbo in terms of features is priced at Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
