Neena Gupta made a significant point in a new post on Instagram amid the novel coronavirus crisis as she urged fans to use consumer goods efficiently without wasting resources. In a video that Neena Gupta shared on Thursday, she asked her followers to “forget” about their favourite products and use things available at home instead.

“Mere waala bhool jaao. Mere waala shampoo. Mere waala handwash, cream, chai ki patti. Bhool jaao. Main jahaan hoon na Mukteshwar mein, yahaan sab kuch milta hai. Lekin woh mera waala nahi milta na, jo mujhe Bombay mein aadat thi. It’s been two months I am here now, although I came for 5-6 days (Forget about your favourite things. Your favourite shampoo. Your favourite handwash, cream, tea. Forget all this. I am in Mukteshwar now and we get everything here. But I don’t get those things that I usually use in Mumbai),” Neena Gupta said in the video.

The 60-year-old actress was almost running out of shampoo and handwash but managed by adding some water to the products. “I could wash my hair three times with the shampoo after I added some water to it,” she said, adding that she applies moisturiser once in two days so that it lasts long. In case she runs out of moisturiser as well, Neena Gupta said without batting an eyelid that she will use the products that are available in the markets of Mukteshwar.

“Aise bachat karke ek seema mein rehke jeena, ab hum seekh gaye hain. Aisi koi mushkil baat nahi hai. Koi mushkil nahi ho rahi hai. Ek nayi aadat si padh rahi hai. Toh thik hai. Chai ki patti nahi hai toh jo normal chai ki patti ubaal ke peete hain, main woh peeti hoon. Mujhe koi farq nahi padh raha hai. So, it’s a new experience. Jeevan badal gaya hai. Achche ke liye badal raha hai haala ki kaaran bohat bura hai jiske liye badal raha hai matlab. But, mere waala bhool jaao. Thank you (We have learnt how to use things efficiently now. There is no problem. It is a new habit. If tea leaves are not available, it’s okay. I will drink the tea that is available here. It doesn’t matter. It’s a new experience. Life has changed for the better. However, the reason for which it is changing is very bad. Nevertheless, forget about your favourite things),” Neena Gupta said before signing off.

“Mera waala bhool jaao,” Neena Gupta said in the caption of her post.
