Even as the deadly virus continues to spread its fang across the globe, medical experts and researchers are working at breakneck speed to find a vaccine fit for human use to battle the contagion. As of now, there are more than 155 vaccine candidates against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and 22 of these have reached the clinical trial stage (human trials). According to the latest updates, vaccine candidates being developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, Chinese company Sinopharm and another Chinese drugmaker Sinovac Biotech have all reached phase three of human trials.
