NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday slammed the Modi government for its handling of the coronavirus pandemic and a “failed lockdown” that was imposed to contain the spread of the virus in the country.
Taking to Twitter, the Congress leader shared a graph which showed the number of Covid-19 cases in Spain, Germany, Italy and UK while comparing them with India.
Through graphs, Rahul emphasized that the lockdown was imposed in those countries when the number of cases of coronavirus were increasing and the unlocking process began, the number of cases were on the decline.
However, in India the process of unlocking is being initiated at a time when there is a sharp rise in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Rahul Gandhi had earlier also said that India is the only country to have relaxed the lockdown when Covid-19 cases are rising. The former Congress president had earlier too termed the lockdown in India as “failed” which has not helped see a decline in cases.
India has seen a steady rise in the number of cases ever since the lockdown has been relaxed since June 1.
India saw a record single-day jump of 9,851 coronavirus cases and 273 deaths on Friday, pushing the nationwide infection tally to 2,26,770 and the death toll to 6,348, according to the Union health ministry.
