Indian Railways to resume partial service from May 12, bookings open on IRCTC website from May 11: Full list of trains

The Indian Railways is initially restarting passenger train operations with 15 pairs of trains from May 12. Bookings will start from 4 pm on May 11 and will be available only on IRCTC’s website.

The Indian Railways on Sunday announced that it will gradually restart passenger train operations from May 12, initially with 15 pairs of trains, it said in a statement.

Bookings for reservation in these trains will start from 4 pm on May 11 and will be available only on the IRCTC website. The fares for seats in these trains will be normal, not hiked.

All passenger train services were suspended due to the nationwide lockdown announced on March 25 to contain the spread of Covid-19.

These trains will be run as special trains from the New Delhi railway station. Here’s the complete list of train which will be running from May 12:

1. New Delhi to Dibrugarh
2. New Delhi to Agartala
3. New Delhi to Howrah
4. New Delhi to Patna
5. New Delhi to Bilaspur
6. New Delhi to Ranchi
7. New Delhi to Bhubaneswar
8. New Delhi to Secunderabad
9. New Delhi to Bengaluru
10. New Delhi to Chennai
11. New Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram
12. New Delhi to Madgaon
13. New Delhi to Mumbai Central
14. New Delhi to Ahmedabad
15. New Delhi to Jammu Tawi

After the resumption of these 15 services, railways will start more special services on new routes, based on the available coaches after reserving 20,000 coaches for Covid-19 care centres and adequate number of coaches being reserved to enable operation of up to 300 trains everyday as “Shramik Special” for stranded migrants.

Further details including train schedule will be issued separately in due course, the Railways said.

The bookings of these trains can only be made online. Ticket booking counters at railway stations will remain closed and no counter tickets (including platform tickets) will be issued, Railways said.

Only passengers with valid confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter railway stations. It will be mandatory for passengers to wear face cover and undergo screening at departure and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the trains.
