“If you can dream it, you can do it.” This quote, attributed to Walt Disney is the sort of motivational message found pasted in the study area of engineering aspirants and chanted repeatedly across each day. Those who top the JEE Main & Advanced entrance exams, successfully achieving their IIT Bombay dreams share a slightly modified version while celebrating: “If you can dream it, you can do it, with a little help from Viyalankar!”
So what are the aspects that make Vidyalankar a preferred coaching institute for those who dream of gaining admission to IIT? Well, for starters, a carefully designed course with systematic study plan, a stable team of experienced faculty, friendly and approachable teachers, research-based study material, a Question Bank of 2400 challenging problems and solutions, a module on short cut methods and memory tips for revision, in-built doubt solving sessions to strengthen the concepts and additional online support available.
Several tests like Weekly Tests, Topic wise Tests and Full Length Tests are conducted regularly throughout the 2 Year Program. Students can revise any topic easily with recorded video lectures and catch up on any missed lectures as well through this facility. There are several other factors as well that have regularly enabled Vidyalankar students to achieve their potential and accomplish their goal of pursuing the engineering course at IIT Bombay; read on to hear the formula in their own words.
Sahil Shah (AIR 21 – JEE Advanced) explained, “Until the start of the 10th standard, I did not even know about the IITs. One of my school teachers said that this might be something I could pursue. My parents and I started looking online and we came across Vidyalankar. I gave the VSAT exam and did pretty well on it. I think there is a lot of commercialisation in the IIT coaching industry but at Vidyalankar, the atmosphere is homely. At the same time the faculty is competent and really interested in giving one-on-one attention as well. So I joined Vidyalankar and that’s how the journey began.”
Describing his experience, Sahil said, “As time passed, I really enjoyed what was being taught and found the lectures to be engaging. I started putting in more effort and gradually started seeing results, which motivated me further. A typical day would involve 5 hours of lectures and another 4-5 hours of self-study after classes. My first priority would be to finish the homework given by Vidyalankar since this was the most relevant material, after which I would cover topics that I had missed out on or was not good at. I learnt to set short term goals for weekly exams held every sunday. As a result of following this regime diligently for two years, I got admission in IIT- Bombay. Receiving opportunities from different companies, which I interned with during my time at IIT, I have decided to join Tower Research in Singapore.”
Sahil’s mother, Dr. Shaila Shah, affirmed, “We made the correct decision of enrolling Sahil in Vidyalankar. What attracted us to Vidyalankar is the favourable student-teacher ratio along with the very friendly and approachable environment, excellent administrative staff and teachers. I would like to thank the excellent faculty of Vidyalankar for making this a phenomenal learning experience for Sahil, without them it would have not been possible. The structured programs that Vidyalankar has for their batches, combined with Sahil’s efforts helped him excel in every competitive exam in these two years. You can be sure with Vidyalankar!”
Karan Jain (AIR 35 – JEE Advanced), who went on to went to study at UCAL Berkeley after realizing his dream of pursuing engineering at IIT- Bombay, recalled how his association with Vidyalankar began in 9th standard when he had qualified for ‘Ganit Pradnya.’ Describing the entire staff at Vidyalankar as ‘being like family’, Karan pointed out that for both he and his brother,Samar Jain,(who also got into IIT- Bombay), Vidyalankar was like their second home. “They co-ordinated lectures nicely, handing worksheets and other nitty gritties so the classes were conducted smoothly. I was weak in Chemistry but the faculty here taught me very meticulously.”
Chirag Shetty (AIR 61 – JEE Advanced), emphasised that his rank represents or constitutes 400 emails sent back and forth between him and his teachers at Vidyalankar as well as 2160 hours of study work, 200 hours of phone calls, nearly 10 kgs of paper work and an immeasurable amount of hard work by all of them. “When I joined Vidyalankar, I was a NTSE first level qualified student. I did well in their test and got some concession. People spent Rs. 2-3 lakh to get this top 100 rank, I got it in Rs. 69,000 so Vidyalankar is the best and economical class. Vidyalankar has put forth a perfect model of how IIT training has to be done. Whatever I am is because of Vidyalankar. AIR 61 is not my rank; it is our rank, the rank we achieved as a team!”
