West Bengal: Bus ferrying migrants overturns in Jalpaiguri, 15 injured


At least 15 migrants injured after the bus on which they had hitched rides overturned in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal on Sunday morning.

At least 15 migrants sustained injuries after the bus on which they had hitched rides in their desperation to reach home during the coronavirus lockdown overturned in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal.

The bus carrying migrant workers overturned in Dhupguri block of Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal on Sunday morning. According to the inputs, the driver of the bus is absconding.

All the migrant labourers, who worked in a brick factory in Sahudangi, were going to Cooch Behar district in West Bengal when the incident happened.

The persons who have sustained injuries include three children and four women. All of them have been admitted to a hospital in Dhupguri.

Dhupguri Police has reached the site of the accident and is accrying out the rescue operations.
