“This remains a bad experience for customers,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement to The Verge. “Gamers want to jump directly into a game from their curated catalog within one app just like they do with movies or songs, and not be forced to download over 100 apps to play individual games from the cloud. We’re committed to putting gamers at the centre of everything we do, and providing a great experience is core to that mission.”
Microsoft xCloud is a platform that will allow users to play and access Xbox games via streaming. Microsoft’s xCloud was being tested on Android since last year and is expected to launch on September 15. “Our Project xCloud preview TestFlight period has ended on iOS and we are focused on delivering cloud gaming as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to Android customers beginning September 15,” Microsoft had revealed earlier.
As for Apple and iOS, it’s not clear that whether xCloud will be made available. Microsoft clearly remains unhappy with Apple’s new rules and Xbox gamers that have iOS devices look set to be devoid of xCloud platform.
