Moderna was not only one of the first companies to start work on its vaccine models, but the process of vaccine development is also an elaborate one and takes a long time to develop, even though many have been granted the go-ahead to speed up work in the times of crisis.

Moderna plans to start phase III trials of its vaccine from July 27. The completion of this phase is the most vital, as a large pool of candidates (which are often also spread out in different countries) are involved which makes it easier to observe any side-effects or problem.

Once this phase is over with, observations and tabulated and studied so as to submit final results before authorities. If necessary compliances are met with, and the vaccine is found to be effective on a large-scale, it is given the green signal to start public inoculation and dosing.
