Several fell into the well. It is unclear as to whether there were any casualties. 12 people have been rescued by the team of NDRF and SDRF with the help of locals and have been sent to
DGP Vivek Johri said that the exact number of people who might have fallen inside is not clear yet. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was in the district for ‘kanyadan’ of three adopted girls.
He asked minister Vishwas Sarang to reach the spot and monitor rescue operations. Sources say there were more than 50 people at the spot. There was difficulty in carrying out the rescue operations following inadequate light.
Police say the boundary wall and the inside wall of the well caved in. The well is said to be 100 feet deep. Rescue operations were on till filing of this report.
